Biggest real estate investment concerns among U.S. investors 2022
The cost of construction materials was the biggest real estate concern among investors that invested in U.S. real estate in 2022. Approximately 88 percent of respondents in a survey conducted among 72 institutional investors, pension funds, and other organizations worldwide noted that they were somewhat or very concerned with the escalating costs for construction materials. Affordability for residents and tenants and the changes in asset pricing were the second and third biggest concerns for 81 percent and 76 percent of respondents, respectively. When considering the biggest business concerns, inflation ranked first.
