Based on a survey on Ramadan conducted in 2022, a higher share of African respondents was planning to visit their hometown to celebrate Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr than in 2021. In 2022, 67 percent of the respondents in selected African countries stated their willingness to visit their homes for Ramadan and Eid compared to 51 percent in the previous year.
