According to a survey on Ramadan conducted in 2022, the share of respondents in selected African countries who thought the coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions would affect their ability to celebrate Ramadan was significantly lower than in 2021. In 2022, 15 percent of the respondents stated that their ability to celebrate Ramadan and Eid would be affected. The share was significantly higher in the previous year at 54 percent.
