According to a survey about savings behaviors among young people in China in 2022, around 52.1 percent of respondents born in 2000 or after said that they only save money spontaneously. Comparatively, about 41.7 percent of respondents born between 1990 and 1994 save money regularly.

The survey was conducted among 46.8 percent of male respondents and 53.2 percent female respondents.
Around 3.7 percent of respondents were born between 1980 and 1984, around 9.5 percent were born between 1985 and 1989, around 37.6 percent were born between 1990 and 1994, around 41 percent were born between 1995 and 1999, and around 8.2 percent were born after 2000.
