According to a survey conducted in Italy in 2021 in which respondents were asked what would be their reasons for consuming cultured meat, the largest group of respondents, 61.4 percent, said they would consume cultured meat because they felt it was more environmentally sustainable. A large percentage, 59.6 percent, were oriented toward consuming cultured meat so that animals would not need to be raised and killed for it.
