Between June 2021 and June 2021, Instagram Reels videos presented a higher view rate than general videos on the platform, with an average of 2.54 percent view rate. By comparison, videos on Instagram presented an average view rate of 1.74 percent in the examined period. Instagram introduced Reels in August 2020 in order to compete with the short-video video trend popularized by TikTok.
