Energy price inflation rate in Bulgaria 2019-2024, by commodity
The inflation rate of energy prices in Bulgaria have decreased in early 2023 compared to the previous year. Gas has seen a decline, with the inflation rate reaching -22.8 percent in December 2023 after it peaked in September 2022 at 212.1 percent. These developments occurred after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has been the cause of uncertainty over Europe's security of gas supply, as well as intense energy price volatility. However, in 2024, the prices have recovered compared to the previous year.
