According to a survey conducted in 2022, most CEOs in Africa believed that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) would positively or had already impacted their businesses. Specifically, 48 percent of the respondents indicated that there would be or had been a positive impact, while 20 percent considered the impact very positive. In May 2019, the AfCFTA agreement officially entered into force after 22 African countries had ratified it.
