A survey conducted in mainland China in March of 2022 revealed that 71 percent of respondents frequently or at least sometimes discussed social issues with their work colleagues in the past one year. Only 14 percent said they had not done it at all.

Over the last year, how often have you been involved in conversations with colleagues about social issues?
Among a total of 3,129 survey respondents, 54 percent were male, 41 percent were female, 5 percent were others;
7 percent were between 18 and 25 years, 46 percent were between 25 and 41 years, 35 percent were between 42 and 57 years, and 11 percent were between 58 and 76 years;
79 percent of respondents did professional/administrative work, 15 percent did skilled manual work, and 6 percent did semi-skilled or unskilled manual work;
97 percent worked full time.
