U.S. adults trust in digital platforms handling personal data 2021
In an August 2021 survey, adults in the United States were asked whether they trusted select tech and social media brands with their personal information. The brand that elicited the most trust was Amazon, with approximately 74 percent of respondents answering that they trusted it with their personal data. Microsoft and Netflix were the second-most trusted brands, both with 71 percent of U.S. adults trusting them to handle their personal information. The least trusted brand in 2021 was TikTok, at about 36 percent of respondents indicating trust in the platform.
