Roughly 80 percent of the respondents to a 2022 survey from Italy would support the government imposing taxes on the leading companies for CO2 emissions and only allowing renewable energy production. However, the majority of them would not support extra fees on flight tickets or more taxes on vehicles' fuels, similarly to what is shown by the same survey on attitudes toward climate change policies in France.
