According to the source, a nuclear household is that formed by a couple, with or without children or stepchildren, as well as domestic units formed by single-parent families (a mother or father with children).
Extended households are those composed by the responsible person and at least one other relative, forming a family that does not fall within the category of nuclear household.
A compound household is that made up of the responsible person, with or without relatives, and at least one unrelated person, such as a cohabitant or a domestic employee.
