When asked which product categories U.S. consumers had switched from national to private label in the past six months as of January 2022, about 30 percent said pantry items. A large percentage of respondents, 28.6 percent, said they had not switched brands because they always purchased private label products, while 12.5 percent said they had tried to purchase store brands but had not switched.
