As of 2022, Egypt had two natural gas regasification plants, the Ain Sokhna FSRU 1 plant, which was operational, and the Ain Sokhna FSRU 2 plant, which was offline. The Ain Sokhna FSRU 1 plant had a regasification capacity of three million tons per annum. Moreover, the Ain Sokhna FSRU 2 plant had a larger capacity of 4.5 million tons per annum, however is offline.
