European countries with the highest EV Readiness Index 2022, by category

In 2022, Norway recorded the highest score on the Electric Vehicle Readiness Index, followed by the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Norway reported an EV maturity score of 18, a total cost of ownership score of 16, and a charging maturity score of 8. Out of the ten leading countries, the Netherlands was the only country with a charging maturity score of 10, all other countries reporting lower scores.

The Electric Vehicle Readiness Index represents the readiness of European countries to make the transition to electric vehicles. The index takes into consideration key factors that indicate the maturity of the EV industry in each country and their preparedness for market expansion.
