In 2020/2021, the investment value in oil refining in Egypt reached over 11 billion Egyptian pounds (570 million U.S. dollars). This was significantly higher than the previous year, when the value of investments in oil refining amounted to almost three billion Egyptian pounds (160 million U.S. dollars). Moreover, the total value of investments in the petroleum sector amounted to nearly 105 billion Egyptian pounds (5.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2020/2021.
