More than 509 thousand roast chickens were sold at the Munich Oktoberfest in Germany in 2022. This was an increase compared to the year before. Figures peaked in 1991, and generally decreased afterwards.

"Wiesn" is Bavarian dialect for lawn or meadow, specifically the location of the Oktoberfest.

The Oktoberfest was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
