As of 2018, 23 of the health tech startups in Nigeria were operating in telemedicine. This invloves connecting people with doctors through chat services, telephone, and video-conferencing. Also, there were 16 ventures into Hospital Management System Software (HMS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Other subsectors in health tech included pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and health logistics. Lagos led in terms of the startup concentration in the country.
