Hindi language publications constituted the largest number of daily newspapers registered across India as of the financial year 2023, grossing over 8,900 periodicals. Urdu newspapers followed, with more than 2,000 publications registered as of that year. More than 20,000 daily publications were registered in India as of March 2023.
