The most popular investment type among Chinese high-net-worth individuals were deposits, currency funds, and short-term government bonds which are characterized by a high-liquidity. According to the survey, 34 percent of respondents stated that they allocated some of their asset value towards these investments.

The surveyed high-net-worth individuals mainly resided in tier-1 cities but also included individuals living in new first tier cities and tier-2 cities in Mainland China.
