Network activity of the token that powers metaverse Decentraland - cryptocurrency MANA - was much lower in 2021 than it was in the end of 2021. On October 31, 2021, more than 10,000 unique addresses were either buying or selling the MANA token on the blockchain, a value that was much higher than the 2,200 addresses during the peak moment in 2022. Unique addresses, or network activity, is the closest metric available in the crypto world to a user count: The more addresses interact with a specific coin, the more interest or users it may have. Nevertheless, the unique addresses that interact with the Decentraland token are far lower than the network activity elsewhere, such as for Cardano (ADA).

The source adds that the numbers refer to as "The sum count of unique addresses that were active in the network (either as a recipient or originator of a ledger change) that interval. All parties in a ledger change action (recipients and originators) are counted. Individual addresses are not double-counted."
