Social media accounts of family, friends, and acquaintances were the most followed by internet users aged 16-64 years in Nigeria, according to a survey conducted in the third quarter of 2023. Roughly 57 percent of the respondents cited that they followed this type of account. Moreover, around 53 percent of the internet users indicated following accounts belonging to actors, comedians, or performers, while nearly the same share of respondents followed entertainment and meme accounts.
