Iberdrola's electricity generation from renewable sources increased to some 47 percent in 2023, with wind representing the largest share. Meanwhile, nuclear energy decreased to some 14 percent during the period in consideration. Likewise, the share of coal power generation dropped since 2016, being completely phased out by 2021. That same year, Iberdrola's net electricity generation surpassed 168 terawatt-hours.
