As of March 2022, nearly 53 percent of Thai respondents stated that the main cause of the current COVID-19 pandemic in the country was because people did not cooperate to prevent the Omicron variant as they thought the symptoms were mild. In comparison, about 9.6 percent of respondents mentioned that some people refused to get vaccinated which caused the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
