The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for energy in Lithuania stood at 176.62 index points in August 2022. This figure marks a peak in the HICP energy index in the period of consideration. The increase in fuel prices is due to an increase in fuel demand and sanctions against Russian fossil fuel imports, which has led to an increase in energy prices. This has also been the case in the overall HICP for energy in the EU.
