Developed economies remained as primary markets for European asset managers, 82 percent of survey respondents considered North America as one of their leading markets to operate in. All asset managers surveyed considered Western Europe to be a primary market and noted prioritization for performing business in this region. Central and Eastern European markets received prioritization by 18 percent of asset managers. The Southeast and Northeast Asian markets ranked similarly, as 27 percent of asset managers noted these two regions as a priority markets.

The survey group consisted of 11 asset managers ranging in backgrounds including banking firms, third-party groups, and insurance companies. The asset managers were concentrated in western Europe representing a combined value of 9.7 trillion euros in assets under management.
