The primary source of renewable energy to produce green hydrogen is solar PV. In 2020, the levelized cost of hydrogen from utility-scale solar PV in Europe was the lowest on the Iberian Peninsula. In Spain, prices ranged from 3.2 to 4.6 euros per kilogram compared with a price range between 3.2 and 3.8 euros per kilogram for Portugal.
