The number of HNWIs in the country was projected to increase significantly, reaching more than 17 million by 2026. In comparison, Southeast Asia's most populous country Indonesia had just over 82 thousand high net worth individuals in 2021.
China also had the highest number of ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWIs) in APAC that year.
