Reasons not to have children Russia 2022

According to a survey conducted in June 2022, 41 percent of respondents in Russia who planned to remain childless said they did not feel the need to have a child. Financial reasons were a motivating factor for 35 percent of individuals, while uncertainty about the future of the country and the world as a whole was listed by nearly one third percent of respondents. Over 30 percent were not willing to change their current life around a child.

The final sample consisted of 37 percent of men and 63 percent of women. Among respondents, 18 percent were aged 18-25 years; 20 percent were aged 26-30 years; 25 percent were aged 31-35 years; 19 percent were aged 36-40 years; and 18 percent were aged 41-45 years.
