According to a survey conducted in June 2022, 62 percent of respondents in Russia who did not have children at the time planned to become parents in the future. On the contrary, more than a quarter of surveyed individuals wanted to remain childfree. Further 12 percent said they did not want children of their own but would probably consider the options of adoption, guardianship, or surrogacy later.

The final sample consisted of 37 percent of men and 63 percent of women. Among respondents, 18 percent were aged 18-25 years; 20 percent were aged 26-30 years; 25 percent were aged 31-35 years; 19 percent were aged 36-40 years; and 18 percent were aged 41-45 years.
