According to a survey carried out in the Netherlands in 2019, approximately 19 percent of respondents either agreed or completely agreed with the notion that sex between two homosexual men is disgusting. In contrast, seven percent either agreed or completely agreed with the same statement when it applied to sex between lesbian women.

The wording was originally phrased in Dutch as: "Seks tussen twee lesbische vrouwen/homosexuele mannen vind ik walgelijk." (Translation: "I find sex between two lesbian women/gay men to be disgusting.")
