From April to July 2022, about six out of ten Swedes responded that they see the future in a positive light. Around one third were negative about the future. However, in September that year, the share of Swedes seeing the future positively and negatively was almost equal, before slightly more looked optimistic at the future in December 2022. The results must be seen in light of the rising inflation amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian war in Ukraine.
