Trust in financial institutions in the U.S. 2021 and 2023
Less people had trust in financial institutions in the United States in 2023 than in 2021, according to a survey carried out in April 2023 among 1,500 American consumers. The share of respondents who trusted financial institutions dropped from 28 percent in 2021 to 20 percent in 2023. At the same time, the share of respondents indicating mistrust in financial institutions increased from nine percent to 14 percent.
