According to a survey on pet ownership conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2022, 62 percent of the respondents in Malaysia indicated that they purchase products for their pets in a specialty pet store. On the other hand, 42 percent of the respondents indicated that they buy products for their pets in a supermarket or hypermarket.
