In 2023, about 7.17 percent of people in Japan went on at least one overnight business trip, while one-day business trips were undertaken by close to 4.7 percent. These rates are the fourth lowest in the past decade. However, the increase in both types of travel marks a significant recovery, considering that the previous two years were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
