According to a survey on pet ownership conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2022, 18 percent of respondents with pets in Hong Kong stated that they obtained their pets during the COVID-19 lockdown. In comparison, around 82 percent of surveyed pet owners got their pets before the coronavirus lockdown.
