Change in long-distance transport mobility in Germany in 2022 based on 2019
Rail transport mobility had shot up in June 2022, when Germany introduced the 9-euro ticket for regional trains and public transports across the country. By contrast, domestic flights had not yet recovered from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on air travel. On the 30th of June 2022, the seven-day average for intra-German air transport was down 38.6 percent compared to 2019 figures.
