According to a survey on pet ownership conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2022, 41 percent of respondents in the Philippines stated that they got their pets because their family or children wanted one. The same survey revealed that around 38 percent of respondents decided to get a pet during the COVID-19 lockdown.
