Carbon targets and goals disclosure of the largest REITs in the U.S. 2018-2022
Although just about one-third of the 100 largest real estate investment trusts (REITs) in the United States reported their carbon targets in 2018, by 2022 this number had doubled and 64 percent of companies had disclosed their carbon targets. According to the source, the top 100 REITs represented 90 percent of the REITs market. Disclosing sustainability goals was slightly more common in 2022: approximately 83 percent of companies included them in their ESG reporting.
