Domestic visitor spend in Africa 2019-2021
In 2021, domestic visitors spent 67 billion U.S. dollars in Africa. This was an increase of 39.4 percent from the year before. In 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic highly affected the tourism industry. Despite the most recent improvement, domestic visitor spending remained below the level recorded in 2019.
