According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on sustainable consumption in India conducted in December 2023, a majority of consumers across all age groups stated that they had not adopted sustainable practice due to lack of information on hand to make sustainable choices. In comparison, 17 percent of respondents between 16 to 24 years had not adopted any sustainable practices as it was too inconvenient.

The survey was conducted among
4,119 respondents aged 16 to 24 years old,
2,270 respondents aged 25 to 34 years old,
1,088 respondents aged 35 to 44 years old,
404 respondents aged 45 to 54 years old,
213 respondents aged 55 years and above.
