In 2023, the age and gender groups that went on the most day trips for business purposes in Japan were men in their fifties with close to 13 percent, and women in their fifties with over five percent. Overall, 7.25 percent of all Japanese men had a same-day business trip that year, while the same applied to only 2.26 percent of all Japanese women.
