In 2021, around 1.54 million students were enrolled in tertiary education in Algeria. From 2015 onwards, the number of enrollees peaked at 1.6 million in 2018, before declining in the following years. The most popular higher education degrees in the country were business administration, law, arts and humanities, and engineering.
