Sustainable funds AUM allocation worldwide 2010–2022, by region

The value of assets under management (AUM) allocated to sustainable funds grew globally from 2010 to 2022. This growth was mainly driven by developed markets. In 2010, the total AUM allocated to sustainable funds was 195 billion U.S. dollars and Europe accounted for 165 billion U.S. dollars of this total. Through to 2022, Europe continued to be the primary source of allocated AUM to sustainable funds, followed by the United States, which was the second-largest inflow to the market. While the rest of the world and China had not invested in sustainable funds to the same level as the United States and Europe, growth in AUM allocation was notable, as allocation increased from 40 billion U.S. dollars in 2016 to 133 billion in 2022.
