In December 2023, the China Maritime Silk Road Trade Index (STI) showed that the import and export trade indices to countries along the 'Belt and Road' project were 230.73 and 289.16 points, respectively. The STI 'Belt and Road' export index increased by about 5.35 percent over the previous month and 1.66 percent over the same period of the previous year. In addition, the STI 'Belt and Road' import index grew by 3.25 percent over the previous month and dropped by 0.35 percent year-on-year.
