Mexicans' main concerns in 2024
A survey showed that as of July 2024, Mexicans' main concern was crime and violence. Approximately six out of ten respondents answered that violence was their biggest worry, followed by poverty, with 41 percent. In 2020, it is estimated that more than 21 million persons aged 18 or older were victims of some kind of crime in Mexico. That translated into a victimization rate of 23,520 people per 100,000 inhabitants. By contrast, merely three percent of those surveyed claimed to be worried about a military conflict.
