As of the third quarter of 2024, 59.3 percent of internet users in the United States said they followed friends, family, and people they know on social media. Overall, more than 30 percent reported following actors, comedians, or other performers. Additionally, over a quarter of internet users in the U.S. followed restaurants, chefs, and foodies on social media platforms.
