In 2021, about 2.8 percent of the Italian population was using electronic cigarettes. This statistic breaks down this figure by gender and age group of users. The demographic segment among which the use of e-cigarettes was most common was the one comprising of males between 18 and 44 years of age. The share of electronic cigarettes smokers in this group was 5,5 percent. In general, e-cigarette use is more common among men than women.
