Projected performance of AUM by the Janus Henderson Group 2021, by asset type

Fixed income, alternatives, and multi-assets were projected to be the strongest performing investment capabilities by Janus Henderson Group in 2021, with over 90 percent of assets under management (AUM) allocated to these asset classes outperforming the benchmark from year one through to year ten. Fixed income capabilities are typically related to investment products such as bonds, certificates, or deposits. High yields, allocating assets to strategic income products, and diversifying allocation among several fixed income sectors are strategies that help allocated AUM outperform the set benchmark. The projection also predicted equities and quantitative equities were to be the poorest performing asset classes, with neither capability reaching over 70 percent of AUM allocated outperforming the benchmark in the first five years of the forecast. Benchmark performance of equities can be skewed as equity market performance can be driven by a group of stocks that dominate certain benchmarks.
