As of 2022, the majority of individuals in Nigeria used smartphones to access the news. In a survey conducted between January and February 2022, the share of respondents consuming news using a smartphone reached 80 percent. Moreover, 37 percent of the surveyed population used a computer for checking the news, while 16 percent used a tablet.
